Bringing Safe Water to Communities in Bunda

Established in 2025, the Water Program provides free access to safe, clean water for families and communities in and around the Nyiendo area of Bunda, Tanzania.

Today, the program serves approximately 600 people, including families in Nyiendo, surrounding villages, Nyiendo Parish, and nearby communities in Bunda town.

Meeting a Basic Need

Before the program was established, access to an adequate supply of safe, clean water was a significant challenge for the community. Families often had to spend considerable time searching for water, making it more difficult to focus on work, family, and other productive activities.

The Water Program was created to help change that.

By providing a reliable source of clean water at no cost to the community, the program is helping families meet one of their most basic needs while creating opportunities for a healthier and more productive future.

Making a Lasting Difference

Access to clean water is already making a meaningful difference in the communities served by the program.

  • Improved access to clean water: Families can now access a more reliable supply of safe water close to their communities.
  • Better health: Access to clean water is helping reduce the risk of waterborne diseases.
  • More opportunities for women: Women who previously spent much of their time searching for water now have more time to participate in productive activities and support their families.
  • Stronger communities: Reliable access to water provides a foundation for healthier, more sustainable communities.
